HostCraft vs GoDaddy — an honest comparison.
Most people meet GoDaddy buying a domain. The hosting that gets upsold at that checkout is a different product than a dedicated-resource VPS — here’s the honest split.
Fact-check: what the marketing doesn't say.
Spec by spec.
| HostCraft | GoDaddy | |
|---|---|---|
| Real KVM VPS entry | $2.59/mo | VPS line starts far higher |
| Pricing model | Same price at renewal | Teaser → renewal markup |
| Windows VPS | ✓ Licence included | Self-managed Windows at premium tiers |
| Dedicated resources | ✓ vCPU/RAM allocated | Varies — shared is the default |
| Domain services | ✗ Buy domains elsewhere | ✓ They win |
| Indian payments | ✓ UPI, bKash, USDT | UPI yes — but INR renewal markup |
| Checkout upsells | None | Famous for them |
The ₹149-299 ads are first-term shared hosting that renews higher. On a dedicated-resource VPS at renewal pricing, we’re lower — and the price doesn’t change.
They sell one, but it’s not the core business — shared cPanel hosting is. For a dedicated vCPU VM, pick a provider whose product is the VM.
A very common pattern — domains there, compute here. Nothing says the domain registrar must host the site.
Windows tiers exist on their self-managed plans at a premium. Ours is licensed and included on every tier.
Both take Indian payments — but compare the renewal price, not the ad price. Ours renews at the same number.
